Committee Content
Getting Involved in a Committee
Would you like to dedicate a year to actively contributing to Drs. Vijfje? You can do so by joining one of our committees! Committees operate under the responsibility of the board. In various areas of work, important tasks are delegated from the board to the committees. Committees are free to bring in and develop their own ideas. Besides the fact that being part of a committee is an enriching experience alongside your studies—and looks great on your CV when applying to future employers—you’ll also enjoy an amazing year. Working with a group of fellow Vijfje members for a whole year, whether organizing events or putting together an almanac, brings not only great satisfaction but also a lot of fun. Weekly meetings with a beer in hand and being actively involved in all aspects of the association make for a memorable experience.
Each committee consists of around six members, one of whom is the chairperson. This person serves as the main contact for the board. Committee nights typically involve meetings and lots of fun on the side. At the beginning of the year, your committee agrees on a set evening each week for dinner, meetings, and drinks.
Worried that it might take up too much time? No stress! On average, you’ll spend about two hours per week on committee work: one hour for meetings and one for your tasks. Naturally, this can increase during peak periods. For example, the EjaculaCie is busiest before and during the KEI week, and the FEC when their larger events approach. But because you’re working as a team, it’s still very manageable—even alongside your studies or a part-time job. Drs. Vijfje expects some commitment, but it’s absolutely doable!
The Committees:
Almanac Committee (AlCo)
The AlCo is responsible for designing and producing the annual Almanac. This book contains interviews, team stories, committee pieces, and lots of other fun content. As an AlCo member, you’ll be busy interviewing celebrities, recruiting sponsors, collecting team and committee content, and designing the almanac. The first half of the season is the busiest, and after the launch in March/April, you’re practically done. The almanac is launched at one of the biggest parties of the year—complete with free beer—and is presented by the AlCo, sometimes with a special guest!
As an AlCo member:
You are creative
You are social
You have writing skills
Do you enjoy writing, recruiting sponsors, or designing a beautiful yearbook that’s distributed for free to all members? Then the AlCo is for you!
First-Year Recruitment and Fun Action Committee (EjaculaCie)
The EjaculaCie ensures everything runs smoothly during KEI Week events in which Vijfje participates. This includes the KEI parade—featuring a float, van, or walking group dressed in blue and pink—and Sportplaza at the ACLO. During KEI week, you’ll promote Vijfje and help recruit new members alongside many volunteers. After KEI week, you’ll organize the First-Year Introduction Day and the legendary First-Year Weekend with your committee, ensuring that newcomers get excited about Vijfje!
As a member of the EjaculaCie:
You are social
You are enthusiastic
You are persuasive
You are presentable
Does organizing a fantastic weekend and recruiting new members sound like fun? Then the EjaculaCie is for you! Note: this committee will be formed around January and start in February.
Escalation Committee (EsCo)
As the name suggests—this committee is all about escalation! Your main task is to be present at as many events as possible and set an example on how to party hard.
The EsCo also delivers the Pannarama magazine four times a year to members' homes. Note: the EsCo doesn’t write the magazine; that's the RedaCie’s job (see below).
The EsCo also organizes two escalation-themed events: “Escalation Training” (a night of pitchers for €5) and a beer go-kart tournament! These are low-prep, high-fun events.
As an EsCo member:
You’re always up for a beer
You’re super fun
You enjoy a good escalation moment
If you’re a notorious drinker who also wants to contribute to Vijfje—and maybe dreams of being a postman while delivering Pannaramas—then EsCo is the committee for you!
Party and Events Committee (FEC)
The FEC organizes drinks, parties, and larger events like the Vijfje Gala, Home Game Nights, and the Christmas Dinner. Beyond the basics, it’s your job to create fun and engaging events for the members.
As an FEC member:
You are organized
You are flexible
You’re active
You are impulsive
You are creative
If you love organizing parties and want to make sure as many members as possible are involved, then the FEC is perfect for you!
First-Years Committee (NiCo)
As a NiCo member, you’ll organize four events throughout the year, each themed around a different Vijfje committee—helping new members get familiar with the association. You’ll co-organize events like Happen en Trappen, the Beerpong Tournament, and contribute to the Pannarama. The highlight is organizing the Lift Weekend independently at the end of the year.
Interested in experiencing different parts of Vijfje and getting to know the whole association? Then NiCo is for you!
Promotion Committee (PromoCie)
The PromoCie handles all general promotion for Vijfje. This includes contacting student and local newspapers, designing posters for matches and events, creating match recaps, and making promotional videos for the club and its activities.
As a PromoCie member:
You are creative
Skilled with Photoshop
Skilled in video editing
Though external communication goes through the board, the PromoCie contributes content. This young committee still has room to shape its direction. Do you love graphic design, editing videos, or developing merchandise? Then PromoCie is your place!
Editorial Committee (RedaCie)
The RedaCie takes care of all editorial work within the club. You’ll write and design four issues of the Pannarama per year. Members fill in their own sections and also contribute other content for the website.
As a RedaCie member:
You are creative
You have writing skills
Do you enjoy writing stories—serious or fun? A background in journalism or tech is a plus!
Sponsorship Committee (SpoCo)
The SpoCo focuses on acquiring and maintaining sponsors, coordinated by the External Coordinator. You’ll approach businesses, pitch sponsorship deals using a sponsorship package, and maintain relationships with current sponsors—often the easiest source of support.
As a SpoCo member:
You are social
You are persuasive
You are commercially minded
You are entrepreneurial
Got a smooth pitch and enjoy connecting with companies? SpoCo is for you!
Travel Committee (StuCo)
Formed in 2020-2021, the StuCo organizes trips such as the winter sports trip, Batavierenrace, and a summer trip/weekend getaway. Winter sports usually occur in Feb/March, the Batavierenrace in April, and the summer trip in May/June.
As a StuCo member:
You love travel
You are creative
You are flexible
Love organizing trips and want to tag along on at least one? StuCo is for you!
Tournament Committee (ToCo)
The ToCo organizes various tournaments, from fun internal ones like the Mixed and Committee tournaments to more casual bar tournaments like Beerpong. You also run two major external tournaments: the TOP Tournament (men) and the GvL Tournament (women). These draw top Dutch futsal teams and require serious planning: PR, sponsors, regulations, etc.
As a ToCo member:
You are organized
You are flexible
You’re active
You’re impulsive
You are creative
Want to be part of a serious tournament organization with freedom to create? Join ToCo!
VETVIT Committee (VETVIT)
VETVIT was founded in 2018-2019 and organizes the Vijfje Internal Tournament (VIT), replacing the old V-laag Tournament. This indoor futsal weekend includes a party and a shot at qualifying for the next season's cup. The committee also hosts the Vijfje External Tournament—open to students, workers, and others from across the Netherlands.
As a VETVIT member:
You are organized
You are impulsive
You are creative
Want to organize two major tournaments? Then VETVIT is for you!
Internet Committee (IC)
The IC maintains the club website and app—essential for the association. You’ll fix bugs, ensure uptime, and help expand features. The website is advanced, offering room for development.
As an IC member, you’ll dive into PHP, SQL, and CSS. Prior programming knowledge is a plus but not a must—it’s a great learning opportunity!
Technical Committee (TC)
The TC oversees the quality of the selection teams. This includes scouting internal and external talent, contacting coaches, managing contract renewals, and helping select team lineups.
As a TC member, you:
Know futsal well
Enjoy watching matches
Have a proactive attitude
Work to attract top talent
Clubhouse Committee (CluCo)
As a CluCo member, you’ll help research, plan, and revise strategies for establishing our own clubhouse—a place for members to meet, party, and feel connected. A strong clubhouse enhances identity and fun!
General Info
The tasks above provide a general outline of each committee, but additional responsibilities may arise. Committee members should be flexible and open to extra tasks not outlined in this document. Collaboration between committees is crucial—each committee should do what it’s best at, even if that means helping another.
