Match Members
The most common type of membership within Drs. Vijfje is the match membership. Every match member is entitled to participate in matches, training sessions, and activities organized by the club. Match members are also entitled to attend the General Assembly and vote during it. They are officially registered with the KNVB.
The cost of match membership is €110 per season, which is collected in two instalments of €55. In addition, match members pay a one-time Newcomer's Fee of €30, which grants you free access to the best weekend of the year: the Newcomers’ Weekend! This is your chance to get to know the rest of your intake as well as many older Vijfje members. A weekend not to be missed, filled with endless fun, great people, and beer!
Substitute Members
It is also possible to become a substitute member at Drs. Vijfje. This means you are eligible to participate in matches without being assigned to a fixed team. As a substitute member, you will be added to an internal list accessible to all Vijfje teams. Teams that are short on players for a match can contact you to join them for a game.
There are a few conditions for substitute membership, which are listed below:
As a substitute member, you may participate in a maximum of twelve matches with Vijfje teams. If you exceed this number, your membership will automatically be converted to a match membership. The board always has the final say in this.
As a substitute member, there is no guarantee of a minimum number of matches. You can only play when asked by other teams.
There is a limited number of spots available for substitute members. The board will decide who qualifies for this type of membership. Goalkeepers will be given priority over other players.
In addition to the above, you are entitled to participate in training sessions and all activities organized by the club. Substitute members may also attend the General Assembly and vote during it. Substitute members are registered with the KNVB.
The fee for substitute membership is €71.50 per season. If you would like to become a substitute member, you can indicate this in the 'comments' section when signing up. This is a weekend at the start of the academic year during which new Vijfje members head to a group accommodation for a few days full of fun, beer, and great people.
In rare cases, there may be a very small additional charge to cover all costs, but this is unlikely. The full amount collected through the Newcomer’s Fee will be spent on fun and memorable activities for new Vijfje members.
