About Vijfje

G.S.F.V. Drs. Vijfje is the largest and most sociable futsal club in the Netherlands. Every week, over 450 members play matches across 40 different teams. Our Men’s 1 team competes in the Topklasse. But don’t underestimate the women — Women’s 1 plays in the Eredivisie, the highest level in Dutch futsal, where they've even claimed the championship title in 2021-2022. The other teams compete across the First to Fourth divisions. Of course, there are plenty of training opportunities, and large indoor tournaments are regularly organized. One major perk? Drs. Vijfje plays its matches during the week — on Wednesdays and Fridays!

But Vijfje is about much more than just futsal: after the weekly matches, we gather on Friday nights at our favorite bar, Gelkinge 9. On Wednesdays, Gelkinge 9 often opens its doors as well for parties, pub quizzes, tournaments, and other great excuses to go wild midweek. And it doesn’t stop there — every year, we host major events including a Christmas dinner, a formal gala, a ski trip, and our home game nights. Drs. Vijfje has a vibrant community life, and with nineteen committees, there’s plenty of room to get involved off the pitch too!

Playing futsal at Vijfje

Every week, 29 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams play their matches on Wednesday and Friday evenings. The men’s teams compete from the Topklasse down to the Fourth Division, while the women’s teams play in the Eredivisie as well as the First, Second, and Hoofdklasse. At G.S.F.V. Drs. Vijfje, there’s a place for players of all levels — from elite squads to the lowest leagues! On top of that, there's plenty of opportunity to sharpen your futsal skills: all Vijfje members can join weekly training sessions.

And it doesn't stop at regular league play — every team also gets the chance to shine in other competitions. Each year, teams battle for glory in the highly coveted Vijfje Champions League, the one and only internal competition of Drs. Vijfje. There's also the chance to showcase your skills at the Vijfje Internal Tournament (VIT), the Vijfje External Tournament (VET), and many other legendary indoor events.

Social side of Vijfje

At Drs. Vijfje, it's not just about futsal — fun and socializing are just as important. After every victory, teams can pick up a free pitcher at our go-to bar, Gelkinge 9. Because let’s be honest: the third half is just as crucial. Every Friday, the weekly social gets wild, and Gelkinge 9 also regularly opens its doors on Wednesday nights.

Various committees organize the most fun events and parties — think beer pong tournaments, 30 Seconds battles, or even bieriokart. We also rally behind our flagship teams, H1 and Vr1, twice a year during the always legendary Thuisspeelavond (Home Game Night), turning the stands into a sea of support.

And it doesn’t stop there: every year, loads of Vijfje members head off on a ski trip and a summer tour. So, whether you’re here for futsal or looking for an unforgettable student life filled with good vibes — Drs. Vijfje is the place to be!
